Mares BCD Ergo Inflator Valve
Mare BCD Ergo Inflator Valve
If your BCD is self inflating, then you need to get this fixed straight away.
If it happens on a dive you will have to dump air and remove the LPI hose from the inflator. Then orally add air to the bcd if you need to add air and safely end your dive.
The time it takes to service an inflator, plus the cost of a service kit it is actually more economic to replace the hand piece completely.
BCD's do use a variety of different width corrugated hoses, the standard is 25mm but brands such as Mares have some differenced in the fittings.
As much as we would prefer to fit the inflator for you in store so we can confirm it is correctly fitted, you can install it yourself.
If you have a pull dump system, you will need to attach the line to the supplied metal pin before cable tying the inflator firmly in place.
Once fitted make sure the BCD inflates correctly and holds pressure over time. Check for air leaks using soapy water.
